
Sometimes they had to choose between carrying an extra weapon or carrying extra ammo for what they are already using. Players had to make some hard choices in Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil 4 Remake Shouldn't Make Things Easier It's not just the mechanics of Resident Evil 4's item management, it was the design, colors, and ease of use which all combined to make organizing grenades and eggs as enjoyable as shooting Las Plagas. Resident Evil 4 wasn't the first game to allow players to organize their inventory in this manner, and it definitely wasn't the last, but the way it improved over previous Resident Evil game inventory systems (which were similar but less graphically and mentally satisfying) made it stand out. Related: Resident Evil: Every GOOD Thing Umbrella Has Created This likely isn't true for everyone (there are always going to be people out there who don't mind have 300+ unread notifications or 500 unread emails) but for players who enjoy having things look neat and tidy, the ability to organize all of the items Resident Evil 4's Leon is currently carrying makes for a wonderfully peaceful balance between frantic shooting sections. It's not anything incredibly game-changing, but the inclusion of Resident Evil 4's briefcase made the act of sorting and stacking ammo, weapons, and healing items an incredibly cathartic experience.

There were a lot of different things Capcom did while developing Resident Evil 4 which made it more iconic and memorable than any of its predecessors, but the way players were able to organize and stack items in their briefcase has yet to be topped.

The best part about playing Resident Evil 4 has nothing to do with combat and everything to do with inventory and space management.
